A TONED mum has beaten thousands to the mark to be named The Body of by 2015 by fitness magazine Women's Health.
She embarked on a difficult but life-changing two-year journey which saw her lose more than three stone and, following the birth of her daughter, successfully battle post-natal depression.
After a botched C-section op that left her with a six-inch ragged scar, Stevie was too ashamed of her body to go to the gym.
But luckily, salvation came in the form of hit US DVD series, Insanity.
She explained: "I couldn’t stand who I was and hated myself. I channelled that emotion into pushing myself harder. The first time, my body creamed with pain. I was so tempted to stop, but the thought of making myself better for my daughter spurred me on."
Stevie’s next challenge is to get her PT qualification. "I want
to do it so I can help other people with mental illnesses who are in the
same situation that I was," she told Women’s Health.
"I want to
show them that a healthy body is the first step to a healthy mind. But
most importantly, I want them to know that they aren’t alone."
Women’s
Health Editor Farrah Storr said: "Stevie has an incredible body, but it
was her story and struggle to craft that body that inspired us, won
your votes and made her the Women’s Health Body of 2015.
"The
competition was very tough, but she is a more than worthy winner. She
has tackled adversity head on and her dedication to her own health and
fitness is motivation for all of us. If she can find the determination
to succeed, so can we."
