Project Cars was originally due out last year.
But it has been plagued with delays.
Now Slightly Mad Studios has put it back to release on April 2 in Europe and North America.
It comes after PlayStation racer Driveclub suffered nearly a year of delays before finally coming out just before Christmas.
Even then the game suffered badly from online racing ssues leaving fans furious.
And the free PS Plus version of that title is still not out four months on.“Moving a release date was not an easy decision to make, as we know our fans are eager to get their hands on Project Cars”Ian Bell, Studio Head
“Moving a release date was not an easy decision to make, as we know our fans are eager to get their hands on Project Cars,” said studio head Ian Bell.
“But we know that these extra days will allow us to provide the best game experience that our fans deserve.
"We assure you the wait will be worth it when the game does arrive early April.”
The April release refers to the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions of the game; there's still no news on the Wii U edition beyond a vague 2015.
The company has argued it moved the release date in the past in order to avoid "the competitive holiday scene dominated by household names."
