SO MUCH work went into creating The Order: 1886 that the makers have enough stories for a "few dozen" more games.
But in an exclusive chat, the head of developer Ready At Dawn studios said he's got plenty of story left over if fans want sequels in the future.
Studio founder Ru Weerasuriya said he loved making the game and creating its unique alternate Victorian universe complete with futuristic weapons.
Asked about future sequels for the new IP - intellectual property - he said: "It takes a lot of work, days, hours, months, years actually, to build an IP and build a foundation of what this was supposed to be, and this was going to be just one game.
"Just this one game required us to write enough story, to create enough content to probably make like a few dozen stories out of it.could
"So yes the IP's bigger than this story.“Just this one game required us to write enough story, to create enough content to probably make like a few dozen stories out of it”Ru Weerasuriya, Ready At Dawn Studio founder
"There are questions that are going to be asked in the IP that might not be answered.
"There will be doors that will be opened after this game. There might be a lot of things that you want to know, and we feel that of course, if the players are there and they want more out of it, there are more story lines in there."
He then teased: "There’s already actually, a larger storyline in play that we would love to tell if we get the chance to do so."
Ru added that he wasn't too fussed how the game does with the critics as long as gamers enjoy it.
"It’s been the kind of thing where you hope that your peers will see the things that you do and recognise them, and enjoy them, and when you get that it’s pretty amazing.
"The same goes exactly for players, all you want once in a way actually, is people feel we want quick scores, we want all these big things, but actually most of us as developers, what we want is to actually meet a player who’s played the game and just tell us it was an amazing experience, that they got something out of it, that they found something in there that they didn’t expect.
"That for them it was worth the experience even more, and it was one of the best games that they’ve ever played."
