HOLLYOAKS actress Alex Fletcher thought her character’s baby swap storyline was a bit far fetched - until she read about the story of two French girls who were switched 20 years ago.

Gorgeous Alex, 38, who plays Diane O’Connor in the hit Channel 4 soap, is mum to daughter Yasmin, aged nine.
And admitted the dramatic scenes took their toll emotionally.
In Friday night’s episode Diane will discover the truth - that her little girl Dee Dee was switched with Tegan Lomax’s daughter Rose.
As our pictures show, Diane refuses to believe the shocking truth and goes into denial mode.
Mum of one Alex, 38, said: “When I first got the scripts I thought it was a bit far fetched but then I read about those babies in France who only discovered what had happened when they were in their 20s.
"It’s not an everyday thing but it can happen.
