'Outlaw' killed in Jhenidah 'crossfire'

Jhenidah: An
'Outlaw leader' was killed during a 'gunfight' with the members of
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at village Tutlia in Sadar upazila early
Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Rabiul Islam alias Chhoto Tarek, 35.
RAB claimed that Rabiul was the regional leader of an outlaw organisation Biplabi Communist Party (Haque Group).
RAB Squadron leader Niaz Mohammad said, on secret information, a team of elite force conducted a drive around 4am when a group of outlaws were holding a clandestine meeting.
As the team reached the spot, they opened fire forcing the elite force to fire back which triggered a gunfight.
"Tarek was caught in the line of fire and died on the spot" RAB said.
RAB members recovered two 9mm pistols, two homemade pistols, 10 bullets and six petrol bombs from the spot.
